This bright, uplifting painting, "Rocks and Crashing Wave", by Margaret Stanton, is about the sky and the clouds in Hawaii and how they are reflected in the water as the tide pulls away from the shore. Rocks and crashing wave are a small part of this expansive Hawaii Big Island scene.

"Rocks and Sea Spray"

This seascape has the feeling of My Hawaii Home to me. It's a simple  composition which focuses on the sea and sky as the island breaks the  surface of the water. The sky and its reflection down below generate  the most interest, but the viewers eye will travel to the farthest  point and back in a seascape, providing some movement in the piece. I  created a little splash, literally, where the farthest clouds meet  the horizon. I avoid lines that travel unbroken all the way through  the painting. But, I love color, and I love looseness in the  application. The shore is incredible in Hawaii!
